Sushi and sight-seeing, please!
On our most recent trip to Tokyo, we visited the Tzukiji Market. This is a hot spot (although now re-designed) for both domestic and foreign visitors in Tokyo.
The area contains retail markets, restaurants, and supply stores. Prior to 2018 this market was the LARGEST wholesale fish market in the world!
This gentleman made knives for me, by hand, in the same way his grandfather and father made them. Such a kind person, he monogrammed them so I would not forget my time at the market.
Then, we ran into…..a REAL Sumo Wrestler who’d just come from competition. These guys are enormous – the gentlest of giants. Such an interesting story of getting into competition. And, as a Sumo, you wear the “bun” only after becoming a Champion.
